Ashley Northington Becomes the Small Business Team Lead for Transit Task Force

By January 10, 2018 No Comments

For several weeks, Ashley Northington has had the opportunity to serve on the Transit and Affordability Taskforce, created by Mayor Megan Berry. More specifically, she’s working as the lead for the small business subcommittee.

The taskforce was given the job of constructing a way to mitigate the displacement of businesses and residents along transit corridors by creating policy, programmatic, and partnership recommendations, should Nashville decide to move along with the Let’s Move Nashville transit plan.

On January 9, 2018, Northington sat with the taskforce, made of 19 members, and presented recommendations to both Mayor Barry and the public. Those recommendations can be found here:

Whether one may agree or disagree with the transit plan, Northington pushes this message.

“The transit plan will allow people to move in and about Nashville more freely and efficiently, while simultaneously creating about 45,000 new jobs during construction and after with maintenance and operation. These positions will be well-paying jobs that will help generate wealth in our community so that more Nashvillians have a chance to thrive within the community they love.”

DENOR Brands and Public Relations proudly supports Northington as she is a growing and powerful agent of change.
