Jubilation Gala Helps Students

By February 13, 2014 No Comments

Celebrated choir Rev. Stef and Jubilation has awarded more than $14,000 to New Jersey college students through the Jubilation Education Scholarship.Established in 2005, the scholarship honors worthy performing arts majors from New Jersey. In April, the choir will hold its Fifteenth Anniversary Gala Celebration and continue its scholarship tradition.

Initially started to honor the spirit of Gwen Nelson Fleming, a former Jubilation member, the scholarship is a way to commemorate all choir members who have transitioned. A portion of the proceeds from the Anniversary Celebration will be used to fund the Jubilation Education Scholarship.

The choir’s founder and artistic director Rev. Dr. Stefanie Minatee, affectionately known as Rev. Stef, is a retired music educator. Having served in the Plainfield Public School System for 29 years, Rev. Stef said the education scholarship is important to the cultural and artistic development of students.

“This scholarship is so important to our youth,” said MInatee, who founded the choir, Jubilation, more than 15 years ago. “There are so many creative minds and talented students who need our support. This is one of the many ways Jubilation gives back to the community and supports young people.”

The choir hopes to award talented New Jersey students majoring in the performing arts in 2015. Visit www.RevStefandJubilation.com for more information about the Jubilation Education Scholarship.
