Baton Rouge, La. – The Capitol City’s very own recording artist, JayB August, will perform at SOULciology on Friday, January 27 at the M Bar, located at 350 Third Street in Baton Rouge. Admission to the event is $15 and starts at 9:30 p.m. The SOULciology event, hosted by Soul By Demand, will highlight JayB’s latest efforts.
The Louisiana native has released three albums in three years. He also blazed the stage on the BET Music Matters Tour with Marsha Ambrosius and Melanie Fiona in March 2011. And, in July 2011, he performed on the Budweiser Soundstage at the annual Essence Music Fest in New Orleans.
JayB will also host New Motivation, a listening party, to introduce fans to new music and familiarize them with older tunes. The indie artist will host the party from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on January 29 at Uppercuts Barbershop, located at 7760 Bluebonnet Boulevard. The August Foundation will sponsor the event.
JayB’s unique and popular sound has gained him a large fan base in the Baton Rouge area, and now he is inviting fans to get an exclusive sneak peak at his latest project set to release in early 2012. During New Motivation, listeners will also get a chance to hear popular favorites such as “Can I Kick It,” “Now Or Never,” and “Closer Than Most.” Light refreshments will also be served.
