NOMINATIONS REQUESTED FOR MINORITY BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

The Nashville Minority Business Center (NMBC) is accepting nominations for its annual R.H. Boyd Minority Business Achievement Awards. The awards ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 4. Nominations for individuals who have made significant economic contributions can be made at minoritybusinesscenter.com.

NASHVILLE (August 6, 2015) – The Nashville Minority Business Center (NMBC) is accepting nominations for its annual R.H. Boyd Minority Business Achievement Awards. The awards ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 4.

 

The annual minority business achievement awards recognize the accomplishments made by minority owned enterprises in the Nashville-Metropolitan area. Nominations are being accepted for the following categories: Minority Business Advocate, Minority Business Award and Corporate Partner Award.

 

Nominees must be minority individuals who have made significant economic contributions in their industry and the community. Eligible minority groups include: African Americans, Puerto Ricans, Spanish-speaking Americans, American Indians, Asian-Pacific Americans, Asian Indians, Aleuts, Eskimos and Hasidic Jews. Any business or individual can nominate an individual for the award. Nominations can be made at minoritybusinesscenter.com.

 

“We are excited about the R.H. Boyd Minority Business Achievement Awards,” said Marilyn Robinson, executive director the Nashville Minority Business Center. “We take pride in honoring outstanding entrepreneurs who have made significant economic contributions to the Nashville market.”

 

The R.H. Boyd Minority Business Achievement Awards are a part of Minority Enterprise Development Week (MEDWeek), a weeklong celebration aimed at recognizing the contributions made by minority businesses to the Nation’s economy. Since 1983, the President has issued a proclamation declaring MED Week. This year, Nashville MEDWeek will be held from Sunday, October 27 through Tuesday, October 6.

 

The Nashville MEDWeek celebration will feature the awards ceremony, along with Minority Business Recognition Sunday at Cathedral of Praise Church of God In Christ, Power Networking Business Expo, among a series of workshops, seminars and other educational outreach initiatives.
