Pastor Ryan Virgil Allmon is the newly elected leader of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Baton Rouge. Allmon will succeed his father in leading the church. A pastoral installation service will be held on Sunday, July 22.

BATON ROUGE – The Full Gospel Pentecostal Church family is coming full circle as one of its own will lead the congregation. Pastor Ryan Virgil Allmon was elected pastor in May and will succeed his father, Bishop Richard V.Allmon, Sr., who served at the helm of the church for nearly 29 years.

To celebrate the election of the 25-year-old Allmon, the church will host a pastoral installation service on Sunday, July 22 at the church, located at 6729 Mickens Road in Baton Rouge. The event will feature music by the Stellar Award-winning artist DeWayne Woods, a sermon by Bishop T.F. Tenney and official installation blessings by Bishop Theron Smith.

Allmon said he plans to continue to build on the firm foundation laid by his father and the church’s members say he is poised to do just that.

“This was no mistake by God’s design or purpose,” said Willie Jackson, who serves as secretary and treasurer of the church’s Board of Directors. “It’s not about what he is going to do with this new position; this is about what he has already done.”

Allmon said he was taught his entire life how to be a spiritual leader. At the age of 14, he began teaching Bible lessons to his peers. And as he matured in age, he continued ministering on the campuses of Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge Community College and Southern University. Upon graduating from BRCC, Allmon joined the U.S. Air Force. During his tour of duty in Aviano, Italy, he shared his passion for ministering and taught biblical lessons to his fellow airmen, as well as Italians.

Now Allmon’s journey in service to God will continue as he takes the helm at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church.

“I have always had a burden for souls as all believers should, but the call of God on my life goes deeper than that, for I have a burden for the city of Baton Rouge and with that burden has come insight on reaching the city,” Allmonsaid. “I am prepared to follow God without waver and with an utter dependence on him.”
