BATON ROUGE – SOUL Refined and GoodLife are back to tickle funnybones with SOUL Funny featuring comedic star DeRay Davis. The comedy show, which will also feature Steve Brown and Ced Delaney, will start at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 26 at the Baton Rouge River Center Theatre. Local funnymen Howard Hall and AO will also take the stage that night.
DeRay Davis is quickly killing Hollywood with his hilarious humor and persona. His film credits include Jumping the Broom, Semi-Pro, Old Dogs, Life as We Know It, Imagine That, License to Wed, School for Scoundrels, Scary Movie 4, Barbershop 1&2 and Johnson Family Vacation. On the small screen, Davis has appeared in HBO’s “Entourage”, Comedy Central’s “Reno 911”, Comedy Central Presents DeRay Davis, Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and BET’s “ComicView”. Davis can next be seen in the Sony feature 21 Jump Street.
Steve Brown has taken his energizing act across the nation to various comedy venues and colleges such as The University of Alabama, Mississippi State University, Southern University and University of Minnesota. Brown has also showcased his talents at venues including the Virginia House of Comedy, Uptown Comedy Corner, and Zanies, among others. He has also worked with an array of musicians and comedians including TLC, Goodie Mob, Outkast, Phil Perry, Glen Jones, the Barkays, Roger and Zap, Cedric the Entertainer, Anthony Anderson, J. Anthony Brown, DL Hughley and Rickey Smiley.
Delaney, who made SOUL Refined audiences laugh in previous events, is a clean comedian who has
developed a niche for re-creating chart-topping songs with his character “The Rev.” Delaney has also hosted monthly comedy nights called The “Ced Delaney.COMedy Nite”, and “Tickle Tuesday’s” at the Comedy Club Stardome. Delaney has also performed in cities and churches across America as well as Europe, as well as hosted tours with some of the biggest acts in comedy including Dave Chappelle, Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey, John Witherspoon, J. Anthony Brown, and Rickey Smiley, among others.
