BATON ROUGE – Local entrepreneur Victoria A. Roberts will serve as the Events Committee Chair for the Baton Rouge Social Media Association (BRSocME). Roberts, owner of the event-planning boutique, VAR Events, joined the group’s Board of Directors in January.
From her college days at Louisiana State University to the launch of VAR Events in 2011, Roberts has long held a solid reputation as the go-to designer for chic, groundbreaking, fun events with sophistication and flair. No doubt, she’ll put her skills to use in her new role.
“I am so excited to join such a diverse group of professionals,” Roberts said of the two-year post. “We are excited to embark on an amazing journey to bring social media awareness and information to Baton Rouge entrepreneurs and visionaries.”
Roberts joins Robert Bienvenu, Internet sales director at WAFB-TV, who will serve as finance chair; and Chelsey Laborde, social media manager for 3Lions Media, who will serve as membership chair.

About the Baton Rouge Social Media Association
In March of 2010, Visit Baton Rouge initiated a meeting of influential Baton Rouge bloggers to discuss the digital future of the Capitol City and how social media—blogs, Twitter, Facebook and others—played into that future.
This group of social media professionals became the first unofficial members of the Baton Rouge Social Media Association (BRSocMe).
Membership in BRSocMe is open to people who wish to share ideas or advance their knowledge of social media and how it is used. The group is looking for like-minded individuals who are already out in social spaces establishing Baton Rouge as a technologically advanced and forward-thinking city.
